Silk & Stone is the nickname and twitter handle of Ben Klug, a graduate student in literature who's been into tabletop RPGs for a while now, and has started designing some himself. He's surprised by how often his ttrpg ideas are inspired by video games, because he doesn't actually play that many, but it's been working out well. Also, one half of the podcasts Higgledy Piggledy Whale Statements and Starboard Vineyard Tours (see below).

Conceptually, I try to capture not just the specifics of my inspirations in mechanics and suggestions, but the themes and broader possibilities - I would rather create a game that helps players create something with deep structural isomorphism to the inspiration than just repeat it. This desire for what I think of as a kind of thematic or artistic hypostasis animates all my work. I also like when there's a bunch of dice to roll or a cool sword.
